Our client, an international organization is looking to hire a Boat Maintenance who performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) of hull, deck, and boat fittings on various types of MWR Sailboats and Powerboats.

The incumbent will be working closely with the MARINA SUPERVISOR

 

Key Responsibilities 

·          Accomplish refurbishment, repairs, surface preparation, and preservation of hull, deck, and boat fittings.

·          Performs installation and replacement of deck fittings, standing and running rigging, and sails.

·          Repairs and maintains boats and similar vessels in the Marina.

·          Examines repair or installation orders, drawings, and vessels, utilizing knowledge based on experience to determine the extent of repairs required or modifications necessary for the installation of equipment, accessories, and hardware.

·          Removes damaged or rotted sections from wooden or fiberglass vessels, using the drill, saw, power, and hand tools.

·          Reports to Marina Supervisor or Marina Manager regarding discrepancies, safety hazards, installation or repair problems, sequence of operations, and time required to complete repair or installation.

·          Provide briefing to Marina Patrons about boating safety and local regulations as required.

·          Observes and follows all industrial and afloat safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment.

·          Performs other duties and activities as directed. Performs Marina Watercraft inspection, identifies deficiencies for corrective maintenance and repairs, and reports to Marina Supervisor for necessary measures.

 

Required Academic Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies

·         Must have sufficient knowledge of boat hull, deck repairs, and shipwright work.

·         Must be knowledgeable in Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS) IAW OPNAVINST 4790 series.

·         Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.

·         Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.

·         Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Training from the American Red Cross

·         Customer Service Training: Creating Stellar Customer Relations

·         Must have completed the training and certification of Personnel Qualification Standard (PQS) is highly desired.

– 3M 301 Maintenance Person

·         Must have at least a High School Diploma; a Technical or Vocational course graduate is required.

·         Must have experience in Marine Fiberglass work, hull surface preparation, and preservation.

·         Must have experience in Sailboat and Powerboat operations
