UPHOLSTERER

Our client, an international organization is looking to hire a Upholsterer who performs upholstery repairs on vehicles and equipment. The incumbent will be working closely with the Supervisor, Body & Fender Shop.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair or replace damaged or worn upholstery in all vehicles and equipment.

• Repair or replace upholstery to match existing material and workmanship quality.

• Repairs and fabricates headliners of all types of motor vehicles including door cover panels.

• Remove old upholstery and linings from vehicles.

• Take measurements and select appropriate materials to be used.

• Sew materials together and fasten them in place.

• Finish with trims and edging.

• Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal protective equipment. • Performs other duties as may be assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

Required Academic Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies

• Must be familiar with the use of sewing machines and understand the importance of performing operational maintenance of the machine.

• Must be familiar with the fabrics required.

• Must know how to interpret drawings.

• Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.

• Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.

• Must have a valid country of origin’s driver’s license

• Must have at least a High School diploma is required.

• Must have at least three (3) years of work experience in upholstery repairs on vehicles and equipment.
