Our client is seeking a Director of Operations to join their team. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of all departments, and driving operational excellence.

The Director of Operations will work closely with the CEO and the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies that support the mission and goals of the organization.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
  • Manage and lead the operations team, providing guidance, coaching, and support as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure cross-functional alignment and coordination.
  • Develop and manage the organization’s budget, ensuring financial sustainability and responsible use of resources.
  • Develop and implement systems for tracking and reporting key performance indicators and other metrics.
  • Analyze data and information to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure compliance with al relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Oversee the organization’s risk management efforts, including insurance, safety, and security.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts as needed.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including funders, partners, and other organizations.
  • Represent the company at conferences and meetings with other NGOs, funders, experts, and consultants; ensure follow-up, as needed. This may include international or domestic travel.

Qualifications

  • An advanced degree in business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field. (MA preferred)
  • 5+yearsof experience in operations management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing teams.
  • Strong financial management ski ls, including budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures that improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong verbal and written communication ski ls in English
  • Attention to detail and strong organisational, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Curious individual with ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to seek assistance with projects as required

Terms of Offer
Compensation and benefits for the Director of Operations position include:
